India slide to sixth place (ICC ODI ratings)

We all watched Indian Cricket team loose miserably to South Africa. My colleague has a very interesting theory about how suddenly Dravid is missing from action. Dravid is not really hurt but staying out Gaunguly style. Everyone is searching for answer as Dravid did not really looked in pain when he missed the catch after 3rd ODI which supposedly hurt his finger. He batted long inning after that too. Here is the theory; Dravid sensed that Chappell is planning to replace him by either Sehwag or Dhoni, so he has pulled strings and has demanded some changes like, recalling Ganguly , Laxman and Gautam . This might explain little bit why Sehwag is suddenly not vice-captain for Test part too.

The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) is hard pressed politically from Congress/CPM to get Ganguly in the Indian team and looking at bad performance how can Chappell alone resist?

We also witnessed how VVS Laxman was called in team and with so much expectation and made vice-captain in middle of tour. How will Sehwag or any other team player be motivated to lead to win?

We should not expect magic from our players but a good fight which is not possible till team has these kinds of fissures. May be in this light Dravid with help of Ganguly can revive team’s fortune as Ganguly possess that charisma and fighting instinct.

With all this going on the only person I have seen who has risen above and challenged is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He has consistently produced runs when needed. Indian team score may not have reached even 200 if Dhoni has not torn apart SA bowling in fifth ODI.

Openers have been the key in this series and India has struggled to come out of it, hopefully scenario will be little better in Test matches. Also may be Ganguly should take the opener slot where he was most successful.

Most Indian cricket fans probably want Chappell given chappal and shown door but is he only one to blame? Like Siddhu many keep advocating for making spin pitches to win at least home series but will that not really hurt us team goes away? Ashish Nehra says if you keep bowling on Indian pitches you feel helpless as there are lifeless for fast bowlers. Jaheer has improved/corrected his bowling by playing a lot of county cricket in England. Shouldn’t we be building more fast pitches?

I will argue that the resounding defeat in one day will do well for Indian team for upcoming world-cup. This is like wakeup call to the selectors as long as they do not ignore all the spin bowlers suddenly. Remember in 2nd ODI they excluded Kumble who has bowled magnificently in rest of the matches. I will also guard against excluding Harbhajan in future and treat him with respect as Gavaskar says he has a “heart of a lion”. The balance of experience and new talent is always best thing to do.

Lakhs of People in India are currently following Baba Ramdev’s Pranayam and yoga techniques with almost miraculous results. Baba has been the last ray of hope for multitude of Indians who have exhausted modern medicine and its techniques.

In USA his programs are broadcast on Sahara One, Sahara Samay and Aastha.

At the end of his Sivirs, he asks people to come forward and say how they have benefited from Pranayam and Asanas. Listening to the accounts of ordinary people, most find it unbelievable that his techniques have really cured cancer, etc. In his Nasik Sivir, there was an old lady from Mumbai who was openly saying that watching his TV program wouldn’t help improve her health. She decided to come to Sivir and see the tamasha herself, to her surprise she had reduced her blood pressure in few days, was able to walk without stick.

There are some excellent write-up on following site for his Pranayam and Asanas.

Know Yoga Community

Baba Ramdev recently visited New York as a guest speaker at the United Nations-sponsored program against poverty. Here are some of the news articles on his visit.

On a personal note, my brother and I both suffer from genetically induced hypertension/high blood pressure. My brother being in Indian Air-force is under strict supervision to keep his physic and vitals in check. A year ago his blood pressure was high during a routine checkup, and he was admitted to the hospital. From that point onwards, he had to start a blood pressure drug regime. I constantly reminded him that he should try some Yoga techniques instead of drugs.

Somehow he found out about Baba Ramdev’s program and started pranayam a few months back. When we visited him last summer, he was totally off the blood pressure drugs and his pressure is normal now. As of me, still trying to reduce the pressure but I see benefit from many other angles already, like I do not get severe back pains, chest pains etc. Maybe for me it will be a little harder to fit yoga in a U.S. lifestyle.

Are you also suffering from one of the genetic and or so-called “untreatable” diseases? Why not give Baba Ramdev’s program a try? What have you got to lose? It only takes a few hours per week. Let us know if you benefit from his program.
